Which shows do you think showed no promise, but never got cancelled after the first season but should have?

Mrs Brown's Boys - it is the absolute pits . Not funny, appallingly badly written, terrible acting, sexist rubbish, offensive. There should be no place for it these days.

Designated survivor- started exciting, stopped watching when it went woke.

Agree about Homeland - it could have been perfect if it had finished with a different ending to season 1.
Good Girls - just got annoying in the end, the complications they got themselves in (plus I missed finding Rio sexy )
Working Moms - they just got less likeable

Agree about You. The first season was great but beyond that they were flogging a dead horse.

Another that springs to mind is The Good Place. I loved it at the start but after the big reveal at the end of season 1, they had nowhere to go, and again felt they were flogging a dead horse, forcing a plot to keep putting out new episodes.

Prison Break. Was pointless after 1 season.

Was going to You too, first season was good, maybe even the second but the rest was terrible

It was supposed to be the bridge between the book and the 3rd series that had already been fairly well plotted by Neil gaiman and terry pratchett before he passed away. Plotted years ago and Neil promised he’d finish it.

I liked series 2 viewed through that lens.

I'd add the original Twin Peaks and The Killing (US) to Prison Break in the sense
That the premise of the show went after the first season. Lost as well.

There was no need to drag it out beyond that.

The only time I have ever seen Mrs a Brown's boys have been at my parents at Xmas and I agree its just crap
But Im guessing some people Must watch it ?
I don't know wether its still going but You've been Framed went on forever and it was as never funny .

This is a perfect example.
I thought the first season was outstanding, one of the single best seasons of a TV show I've ever seen. Great plot, well made, really cleverly put together. Looks good.

And then 3 or 4 awful seasons, might have been a film in there somewhere too.

I’m halfway through the second season of Money Heist, and I’d add that too. A great concept for a single, stand-alone series, but trying to rehash the plot in a different setting, with some bizarre “battle of the sexes” stuff going on and no Berlin is not really working for me. I keep falling asleep during the episodes!

On that note, I really hope they don’t make another season of Kaleidoscope, for the same reasons.

AND any sit com that centres around an attractive middle class couple that live in an inexplicably large house in a naice area who never seem to work and whose delightfully precocious offspring go to their rooms the moment they are told to do so. Who the fuck watches this twee crap?

There's one or two series which went on for longer than they should but were subsequently successfully rebooted - regenerated even! - when the funds and new creative talent were available. Dr Who, twice so far - probably should have had a break after Tom Baker and then after Matt Smith. Star Trek original series 3 was mostly meh.

Reacher. Really enjoyed the first season, albeit cheesy. This second series though - just awful. Hoping it's simply because Reacher is generally a lone ranger and in s2 is with his old crew, so it didn't work so well. But was very excited to watch and kind of flabbergasted at how shit it has been!
