Silent Witness aka Silent Shitness/ silent witless. To be fair the first few series were v good but they should have stopped about 10 series ago. Who is still watching it????? They jumped the shark about 8 times.

I agree about the last few seasons which I didn’t bother with, but this latest season is actually ok again!

I get you OP!

I loved Flash Forward and Terra Nova. I was gutted when they were cancelled.

I still think about Flash Forward!

Lost, so much promise then WTF

Murdoch Mysteries - I lost it around the aliens episode but it probably jumped the shark prior to this

Nestofwalnuts · 24/01/2024 14:15

People won't agree but Ghosts. It was so perfect - much more caustic and funny. By the end it all got far too bland and cosy. And I did miss Mary. Why did she leave?

Terry and June I remember loving as a kid, but I bet if I watched it now I'd think it was awful. Mind, I always loved June Whitfield in everything else.

I found one on TV the other day, trust me its dire. You're better off remembering your happy child hood memories of it rather than re-watching it

Wheeeeee · 24/01/2024 14:19

Good Omens.

BlindurErBóklausMaður · 24/01/2024 14:19

Waterloo Road.
Because it's so logical to move a school from Manchester (?) to Scotland and keep the same title.

Life on Mars. Though I think Ashes to Ashes would have been better with a different actress.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 24/01/2024 14:20

Lucifer

LutonBeds · 24/01/2024 14:20

Surprised I had to scroll so far to see Mrs Browns Boys. Dreadful.

The second series of Big Little Lies didn’t need to be made.

Call the Midwife should have ended when the books did, instead of going on and on.

Celia24 · 24/01/2024 14:21

@PuppyMonkey seasons 1 and 5 are my favourite!

Killinginthenimya · 24/01/2024 14:22

The secret circle.
im still pissed.

Sparkletastic · 24/01/2024 14:24

Glee. It became painfully shite.

Sparkletastic · 24/01/2024 14:25

And Just Like That

Terrible reboot of an iconic show.

ErrolTheDragon · 24/01/2024 14:31

Quite a few American series ... the one that comes to mind is How to Get Away with Murder. The first series or two was quite good, with a separate legal case framing most of the episodes which gave it structure but then it got too silly and soapy.

curvesfordays · 24/01/2024 14:34

Strictly and I'm a celebrity etc and all the bake off programmes - utter yawn! 🥱

BarrelOfOtters · 24/01/2024 14:37

True Detective - season 1 was amazing...2 and 3 meh. But I'm loving 4 so I'm glad it wasn't cancelled.

Lost was a great premise and should have finished at season 1.

Killing Eve. Astounding first season and that's where it should have been left.

beguilingeyes · 24/01/2024 14:42

Broadchurch. The first series was brilliant and then they ruined it.
I agree about Killing Eve. Maybe after series 2. I loved Villanelle so much.

readingmakesmehappy · 24/01/2024 14:45

You do get shows which dip and then regain form - The West Wing and Mad Men had weaker series but then finished really strongly.

Sherlock is an example of a show which was great when each episode was focussed on a case and a different baddie. Once it became all about some overarching linking narrative it disappeared up its own fundament. Arrow did the same.

allfurcoatnoknickers · 24/01/2024 14:47

American Gods. Season 1 was amazing, Season 2 was a mess.

Figment1982 · 24/01/2024 14:47

Doctor Foster. And I say that loving everything that Suranne Jones does, and loving the first series.. but it didn't need a second one.

AmeliaEarhart · 24/01/2024 14:53

Misfits. First series was perfect. Second series was okay. After that, Rudy was a poor replacement for Nathan and all the switching of powers was too much.

I agree that the first series of Heroes was an excellent stand alone, and I wish I hadn’t watched the rest.

Also the Handmaid’s Tale. I thought the first series was such a great adaptation, but the second series started to tip into gratuitous torture porn so I stopped watching.

TheBayLady · 24/01/2024 14:55

Mrs Browns boys is like the Crankies for adults.

Avacardo2023 · 24/01/2024 14:56

The Missing season 1 was utter shite, really awful and they should have cancelled it. Then The Missing season 2 was fantastic so I'm glad they didn't.

Tenable
Geordie Shore
The Voice
Steph's Packed Lunch
Anything with Bradley Walsh and his son Barnardos

botheredand · 24/01/2024 14:56

Glee and gossip girl. Utter shite

I have to agree about killing Eve. After series 2 I just wanted her to kill Eve and get it over with!
Also, Lucifer. I don't know what happened at the end because I got so bored of it rumbling on.

Angelswatchingoverme · 24/01/2024 14:59

Agree with strictly, I just don't get what all the hype is about, and don't even get me started on the masked singer...utter shite
