Has anyone had a second course of roaccutane?

Am so disappointed 😞
always struggled with acne but it had got worse so 3 years ago ages 39 I had a course of Roaccutane. I had private insurance at the time so only had to pay for the meds.
it worked beautifully and the dr said it should stay effective for about 5 yrs by which point my hormones might be changing with the approach of the menopause anyway.

but sadly my skin is getting worse and worse again and is really bad at the moment. Almost like a rash over my lower face, jaw and upper neck.

topical meds didn’t work before but might they now? I could ask the GP? Should I consider another course of roaccutane? Altho I don’t have insurance anymore so it would have to be nhs

I’ve had two courses. The first course only lasted about two years. The second course lasted for 8 years. I didn’t seek a third course- in any case I had previously been told I would be v unlikely to get a third course due to diminishing returns.

I managed to get it under control with Skin and Me. I came off Skin and Me, broke out, went back on it. Came off it again when my face was red and uncomfortable from tret and they couldn’t keep prescribing Clindamycin. Went on the pill, but had to come off it. I’m keeping my skin under control with Benzoyl Peroxide every night and salicylic acid in the morning. I have Mario Badescu drying lotion which is great. I also have dots for spots. I’ve had a few spots recently. I’m hoping it’s one of those things and not the start of my skin going bad again.

Thank you
i have tried benzoyl peroxide in the past and it did dry out the pussy white heads I get but it kind of turned them dry and red and then they stayed for ages like that
Dianette worked a treat for me when I was younger but I don’t want to be on the pill now due to side effects.
