Crimewatch Cases You Remember

There's a couple of cases I remember seeing on Crimewatch when I was younger that I've not been able to find since to see whether they were ever solved.
Firstly, a old man who had been attacked in his home & stabbed in the neck/shoulder with an ice pick & dragged to the cupboard under the stairs where he laid for days before being found. He survived but refused to talk about it. I remember it suggesting that he perhaps knew the person who did it.

Secondly, a young girl on a night out who was attacked down an alleyway close to where lots of people were hanging around. CCTV caught the guy entering & leaving the alleyway but the strange thing about the case was the girl awoken to find she was wearing a Me To You nightie? So the guy had changed her clothing?

Does anyone else remember these cases? Or have any of their own?

If you want to find info about them the rough time peroid would probably help.

Hmmm maybe between 2004 & 2008. I fully realise these are real people & crimes but those two I've always remembered & wondered the outcome.

Yes. One that's always stayed with me because of the victim's bravery, probably from the early 90s.

A teenage girl and her younger brother with SEN - not sure what happened in the run up but the girl ended up getting raped by someone while she was with her brother and he was so scared and distressed by what was happening to her that the girl held onto his ankles to help calm him whilst she was being raped.

The Jill Dando case stuck out for me. Her close friends and colleagues appealing for help to catch her murderer. Must have been very hard for them.x

There is a youtube channel called "Crimewatch UK Stories" that is making videos with updates of the cases, there aren't many yet but it's an interesting watch.

@SquatBetty how awful. But so brave to try & comfort her brother in that moment.

@Beezknees thank you! I always thought the Internet would have everything on forever but I can't find anything on either case & as the years go on I just come across more incidents of a similar nature.

i think the Crimewatch were well made I remember loads but there were a couple outstanding.
a young woman living in new housing estate she was on her own and the door handle was tried. then on the Saturday her husband at work she was cleaning with her little girl someone broke in killed her and set fire to her the little girl was unharmed but the father found her unsolved.
an old lady dog walker murdered in woods by Weston super Mare unsolved
an odd one about an older man who was Scottish he had lived all over was living by son and daughter in law or vice versa. a week before he died he had somebody stop with him no one knew but he said he was helping him with a job interview. then it showed him in the supermarket then he was killed think found in boot of a car wearing clothes too big for him, it came out he was gay and far as I know unsolved.
so many I remember with just ordinary people like children burnt to death in a house fire; people murdered seemingly just random victims and some a very complex life comes out like drugs, homosexuals, particularly Religious people its awful how many bad things happen to innocent people

13 year old girl rode her bike home alone from school. She was followed realised she was home alone and barged into her house. She was SA was only about half an hour before her parents got home. I think he fled when she said she could hear them arriving home.

In the 90's was about 20 years after she went missing. A teenager with LD she was last known to be with people she thought of as friends.

There was that one that received a mysterious parcel addressed to woman's husband. The wife was a childminder she had a child in her care when she took the parcel in. Knew it was dodgy and chucked in garden where it exploded.

There was a woman who was murdered in her own home. Her body was left in the bathroom and discovered by her two children when they returned home from school. I don’t remember details as I was a child when I watched it but it’s always stuck with me.

I think I remember this one - was it Heather Barnett? She was found with a clump of someone else's hair in her hand. Murderer was Danilo Restivo.

Yes I think that’s the case. I’m glad they found her killer. I don’t believe they knew who it was yet when I watched it.
