So my DCs just came home from school and informed me today was apparently ’National Pie Day’, so we “have to have pie for dinner”.

Do you like pie?
Sweet or savoury, what’s the best pie filling?
We will end up having whatever we can pick up at the shops!

@SushiSheep your husband is correct - March 14th is Pie Day (obviously in America date style).
I'd buy a pack of the Mr Kipling fruit pies personally.

You need a hairy biker's pie maker, like a toastie machine, but for pies, you can use ready made jus roll pastry amd whatever fillings you like. We often do leftovers, or make a steak and ale mix, and then freeze for pie surprise. I think in the freezer at the moment we have chicken tikka, steak and ale, and slow cooked ox cheek. It makes two one person pies in about 15 mins.

@Feliciacat it's super easy to use, and very easy to clean. And come with cutters so you get the pastry the right size for the base and lid. Probably one of our more used pieces of kitchen equipment.

Not specifically for pies, no, we’re out and about anyway as it’s crazy clubs night so we usually pick up a takeaway on the way home.

You can do fruit pies in the pie maker, I'm pondering apple this week as a surprise for himself as he is the only user so far.
