Holiday cottage cancelled! Help finding a new place?

I booked through Cottages.com using the discounted advert on Mumsnet a few weeks ago a lovely weekend break for feb half term (9th-12th). The property owner has turned around today and cancelled as they didn't want to allow weekend breaks in Half terms this year and forgot to say!
I now need a new weekend break within 2.5 hours of Bristol, not in West Wales, Weymouth, Plymouth, Hereford or Bude areas (guess where we've been on Holiday the last few years).
It's for 5 people (2 adults, 3 children), needs 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms- one must be a bath. Place we had booked had a hot tub and a fire, was not overlooked, and on a single floor (these are all preferences and I think we will have to give up at least one to still go away) near Shrewbury. We paid £600, but it would have been £650 without the discount which cottages.com seem to be prepared to cover. They are also prepared to refund so it can be with a different provider etc.
I can't find anything at all that would work that isn't a massive compromise so I wondered if the nest of vipers might be able to help? The holiday is after a very difficult year and we really wanted to be able to relax and unwind.

Any ideas or suggestions would be gratefully received.

That's unreasonable, I'd make sure you complain to cottages.com, they probably won't be able to do anything but you might get a discount voucher out of it and they will be aware of the issue with the property owner

dc are 9-14. To give you an idea of our interests we had planned to go to Ironbridge museum and wroxeter roman city in Shrewsbury, play a lot of board games (dining table required, can't just have a breakfast bar) and a trip into Shrewsbury itself. We usually go for a week at feb half term but can only do a weekend due to a family event the second half of the week.
Finding an actual property, with our requirements seems to be very difficult at this point!

Toad Hall Cottages , water cottage in lyme regis looks really nice and the website says contact them for that weekend price and availability. Plenty to do, the beach, Fossl hunting, museum, walk along the cobb, visit Dorchester museum, Thomas Hardy, dinosaurs. It also comes with its own beach hut.

We found a lovely cottage through Independent Cottages. There are no fees to a big agent.
My sister booked it after doing some research into the big Cottage letting companies. She had her fingers burned last year with a big agency. They advertised a very low deposit scheme but when she had to cancel the holiday she found she had to pay the rest of the deposit which was a third of the overall cost of the holiday.
I would only book directly with the owner now.

Have you tried Airbnb? Often better for shorter trips at peak time. Eg I’ve booked houses over NYE for 3 or 4 nights, rather than the usually required 1 week min

water cottage looks nice but has none of the criteria we were looking for (fire, hot tub, single floor).

Everything on the independent cottage site is either massively out of budget or out of location if it has a fire or hot tub.

I haven't looked at airbnb but I will try now.
We had a lovely 5* place booked and I am really struggling to compromise!
