Left in pot, smells fine, there's chicken pieces in it, can I eat it?

I definitely wouldn't - and I'm normally fairly relaxed about stuff

ballybean · 23/01/2024 12:10

Sorry it's more than 24hrs, more like 36 Blush

I'm normally very relaxed too but chicken freaks me out

Absolutely not

After campylobacter from chicken a few years ago, it’s a no! GP told me that all chicken is full of food poisoning bugs.

Isthisjustnormal · 23/01/2024 13:00

I’m normally relaxed to the point of neglect and that would be a no from me!

My mil used to keep her stock pot on the hob for days and she is 91... One day wouldn't bother me (after boiling it first).

Mine sits out for that long usually. Just boil it for a bit - that will kill everything.
