I don't have bottom teeth

Really embarrassed writing this . But I had all my bottom teeth removed. I now have 2 implants (screws) in the bottom gum . I have a bottom denture that will fit over the 2 screws. My dentist told me to get used to the denture before he actually attaches them to the screws . I have already had adjustments etc and I think they fit is OK.

The problem is I find it so hard to put them in. It hurts so much that I avoid putting them in /practicing doing it. I can't even explain the pain. I have already missed 2 appointments because of this. I have dentist on Saturday where they will be fitted onto the 2 screws . I can't mess it up again.

If your denture is actually painful then of course you need to let the dentist know before this is permanently attached to your gums .

How long ago did you have your teeth removed ?

I have part dentures (removable) and would say that it does take time to become used to them so if it's merely uncomfortable then it's worth persevering whilst you can still remove them - but if you still find them painful - then the dentist needs to know.

I think you have misunderstood I have already had adjustments etc. Once I get them in they don't hurt. It's actually getting them in . It hurts My gum /jaw so much that I'm scared of putting them in. I can't explain the pain. And it's been at least 6-9 months that i have had the screws in . Teeth have been removed for over a year so its not a healing thing .
