When does winter newborn go out

Hi if anyone has had a winter newborn when did you take them out for walks and on schools runs in the car

it happens to me where in the first 6 weeks I feel surreal and when I step outside get palpitations and walk very slowly feel like I’m in a daze and hear a clock ticking that baby will need feeding /changing at any time and can’t fully relax
I have been given a mental health nurse to come fortnightly only at the request of my cbt therapist

despite me asking for dbt/cbt for last 3 years for my mental health nhs team they never offered a nurse until now when I have a newborn
I tried to ask for perinatal support 6m ago but they refused saying my issues were there before pregnancy

DS was born at Christmas a few years ago. We went out with him for a walk along the beach about 20 hours after he was born. He was a snuggled up and wrapped up warm in his pushchair.
He went to the pub (for a family Christmas meal...not to get pissed) for the first time when he was 3 days old.

I hope you’re ok @Zok , I was doing the school run (walking) with mine when she was four days old. I found all the places in the playground I could feed a baby.

Almost immediately. Just appropriately dressed. mine went in the garden for naps, it's really healthy. But it sounds like you really need some mental health support so please do push for that.

Baby was born early evening and took on school run in the pram the following morning.

When you're ready for them to. With my first I took her for her 5 day check as it was at the local clinic. Then when I found that was ok I took her on a little walk. I felt similar to you in that I found it very stressful, so I just made myself do a little walk round the block to start with for a few days and built up as I was comfortable.

My second, I had a longer birth recovery and a home visit for her 5 and 10 day checks. She probably didn't leave the house for 2 weeks and I'm not sure I did either. She also didn't do the nursery run for weeks and my DH drops my eldest on his way to work and collects her, so I didn't do it until I felt very ok to do so.

Straight away. We've been out with newborns as soon as we were home. December and February so both winter ones. Just need layers.
