VINTED, help! Buyer selected wrong postal label?

I've sold some brand new boots and I remember when listing them selecting large parcel? But I'm new to vinted and can't find the shipping info on my listing now?
It says from £2.49 on the listing which doesn't seem right.

The boots weigh 1.5kg and someone's bought them and the shipping label says 500g.

What do I do. It's through inpost so I assume a small locker will open and I won't be able to put them in anyways as they won't fit.

I've contacted buyer but she's only bought 1 previous item too so I don't know if she will know either.

If I cancel the transaction will she have to wait for the money to be returned before repurchasing?

I really need the money :(

I thought I'd just take it post office and post it out of my pocket but I don't think I'd be covered on vinted then?

When you listed the item you had to select the parcel size - it sounds like you selected small, when you should have selected large. Start by checking on the listing to confirm that is the issue.

When you go to inpost there is an option to request a larger locker - so just do that.

I had this, it was my fault. I explained to the buyer who was luckily very understanding. I re listed it with the correct postage and sent her the listing and she repurchased.

Vinted customer service came back about 3 weeks later telling me to do that. They are useless.

Nope.

I looked it up on vinted forum and it's a glitch.

The label says 500g but when I go on the email saying your postage label is here. It says the parcel is upto 2000g

Apparently it's been happening for ages that inpost printed labels all say 500g even if they are actually medium or large.

So I'm good to send.

What PP said - when you go to the inpost locker you can choose the size you need.

Sorry if it came across bluntly. I just meant I knew I had selected large as I remember debating between medium and large and absolutely wouldn't have clicked small for these boots.

Thankyou for replying.

This happened to me! I explained to the buyer, cancelled, relisted with large selected. She bought it again but the parcel still said 500g. No idea why! I took a chance and posted it anyway and it was all fine. Got there ok no issues

Are you always so sensitive?

AtomicBlondeRose · 23/01/2024 10:20

You just select a larger locker when you drop it off. I don’t think that changes anything on either end tbh.

It wasn't the locker size. For some reason the parcel selected is upto 2kg but the label says 500g only.

But it is in fact a 2kg parcel, it's just some kind of ongoing issue that inpost puts 500g on the label even though the email says large was selected and the allowance is 2kg, not 500h.which lead me to think the buyer had somehow changed it to a small parcel. Meaning she would get charged or delay the parcel which I didn't want as I don't get the money till it arrives!

I understand that but in all honesty I doubt they pay that much attention to it. Have you seen the speed they work at? They grab them from the locker and throw them into the van, I can’t even see that they would weigh or look at the label closely. I’ve never once weighed a parcel or selected the size based on anything other than what size locker I think it fits into.

I guess so 😂

Thanks

Oh I've never even checked this, I've sold 100+ items on Vinted, choose the correct size locker when I'm there, and off it goes! (I do list it as the correct size originally though!)

StinkyLittleBastrads · 23/01/2024 14:59

Just to show. Label and email.
