Today I had this short snippet of an unknown song recommended to me on Youtube. The story is that somebody found it on a CD from 1999 which they then uploaded to the internet in the hopes of finding the name of the song and the artist. Now I've had the song stuck in my head all day and would also like to find it!! Sounds very 80s!

That's probably a modern cover version by Hoxuri - there are loads around.

Doubt you'll ever track this one down OP! It seems to have gone down in internet history as a great lost song, or maybe a troll created to fox those Reddit posters who always i.d. the most obscure songs.
