Career Change - Ideas Please šŸ’”

Please help me change career.

I have 10 years HR experience, including management. I’m so bored of it now.

I want to work for myself, but what can I do?

I can invest £10k in start up costs.
I can retrain but I don’t really want a large amount of debt, especially a student loan.
I’ve looked at NHS roles - midwifery, sonographer and SaLT but the salary doesn’t warrant the debt and I’m miles away from hospitals.

It ideally needs to be something I can do from home as I live in a village with rubbish transport links and long commutes to big towns/cities. There are premises to rent locally if I need a space.

I’m willing to consider pretty much anything.

I’m good at HR, dispute resolution, critical thinking, fairly creative, reasonable at tech. Not great with numbers.

I need to earn about £2k a month.

Where can you see any gaps in the market?

All ideas welcome - thanks so much

I know you're bored of HR, but why not try HR consultancy for a few years? Gets you used to selling your services, being self employed, managing company account and you wouldn't need to work full time to earn that sort of money.

It’s oversaturated, especially in my area. I’ve thought about employment law too, but I’ve just lost the interest in it all. Thank you for taking the time to reply.
