Anyone else got tonsillitis/throat infection?

It’s completely made it’s way through the household and i’ve finally been struck.

I ALWAYS get tonsillitis but this time it’s thrown me to bed. I was shaking like a leaf all night (still am) yet have a high temp of 39.

Went to the ENT a few years back but he did everything he could to persuade me not to get them removed, he said that in adults the recovery is pretty intense?

Does anybody have any experience of having tonsils removed as an adult?

DD had hers removed at 19. Her consultant warned her that due to her age he was going to ‘make her absolutely miserable for 2 weeks’! In reality yes it wasn’t pleasant but with the right pain relief it was manageable. She was able to eat and drink pretty much normally throughout and was back to normal by day 10.
