Just that really, regulars might recognise me as I've spoken before about having a cleft lip and palate and how unhappy I've been with the symmetry of my nose and top lip.
After eight years and two complaints to PALS I am going in tomorrow for a septorhinoplasty bone graft and lip revision!!!
I am SO excited, yet trying not to be in case it gets cancelled or there's no real difference.
I've no one to share with either. My ex husband is dropping me at the entrance tomorrow and my mum is looking after my DC. My mum's made it clear she's going home on Tuesday night.
Wish me luck!

That’s great news. Here’s to a quick recovery 🥂

( I’m waiting on a different surgery and think I’ll be very reluctant to be woken from a decent sleep. I’ve forgotten what that’s like)

@WineIsNotGoodForMe when we first started doing them in 2009 ish. There were two surgeons. One was brilliant, the other is never have let near my child's face. I felt sorry for the kids who lived in the area he covered. Which surgeon you got depends where you live. Fortunately our two current surgeons are absolutely brilliant. They absolutely work miracles. And are both absolutely lovely men as well.

Do you work in the field @Toddlerteaplease or are you a cleft patient or parent?

Toddlerteaplease · 23/01/2024 16:06

I'm a paediatric nurse on a ward that takes all the cleft patients for our region.

@WineIsNotGoodForMe My dc haven't got clefts, and in my wider family there is only a 2nd cousin. My parents had genetic testing and no gene links were found. The only thing we can think of is that my mum fell downstairs when she was 4/5 weeks along with me.

I was in a lot of pain yesterday and last night as the antibiotocs and cocodamol were doing what they do best. I was so sick. Antibiotics have settled and I'm managing on paracetamol/ibuprofen. I get the packing out in a week. I'm so excited to see what happens to the shape of my schnezzer after this.
