Very niche question for those we have a burn/scar from scalding

I have a large scar on my leg from being scalded from hot water nearly 40 years ago.
for anyone else who has a scald/burn scar, the type that is very uneven etc. do you ever get little scabs/cuts throughout your scar? I always have, not sure where they come from and wondered if this was common. Couldn’t find anything on google.
also do you do anything specifically to care for your scar in the sun?

I had a chemical burn about 15 years ago that needed grafting. The burns unit said it would always need sunblock as always vulnerable.
It's on my ankle/top of foot so not usually exposed but do have to be careful to put sunblock on.
I've not really had other problems with it. The skin is definitely more fragile & the hair never grew back.

I have a scar on my hand from school dinners - someone walked into me with extremely hot chicken pie! I was about 13 and am now 56.

A dinner lady promptly put my hand and arm in the top of one of those water urns...which had cold drinking water in it.

The wound mended and I've never had any problem with it.

I have scars from scalding, a similar age to yours, but they don't scab. The lighter ones darken more quickly than the rest of my skin in the sun. The deeper ones (puckered scar tissue etc.) sometimes itch but they don't scab. I'm not sure if this is helpful or not!

I have one on my wrist from managing to flip a pizza (with extra cheese) on to it straight from the oven. 30 years on it looks like a tea bag stain. Never had any issue with it, except some have wondered openly if I was a victim of abuse.

Got a nasty oven shelf burn on my arm, took months to heal and is very tempermental years later. I always use sunblock, and keep it well moisturised and have had good success with a silicone based scar gel. GP asked if I was self harming Hmm and I had to say no sorry, my oven just hates me.

I was scolded from very hot water about 40 years ago

the area doesn’t tan quite so dark but it’s hardly noticeable

I have an uneven scar which is surgical but became keloid and so very wide and was high (but had treatment which reduced the height). It does crack and scab if I don't keep up moisturising it really well

Ive got a scar on my leg from a hot oil spill when I was working in kitchens 20 years ago. It scabs up sometimes if I've scratched it with an itch.
