Really stupid question about eating defrosted food

I should know this at my age. Google hasn’t given me what I need (not explaining myself properly for it!).

if I cook fish, then freeze it and then defrost it - can I eat it without heating it back up?

I'm fairly certain you need to heat it back up again. What kind of fish would you want to eat cold?!

My understanding is once it's cooked, freezing it doesn't uncook it. So yes you could defrost it and eat it cold.

Yes. Think of it this way. You buy frozen cooked prawns, then defrost them and eat them cold in a salad or sandwich. You don’t heat them back up.

Yes you can. As long as it’s only reheated once.

Ok excellent. Same would apply for cooked chicken? Or any food I guess? If it’s cooked I can defrost and eat?

@bookworm1982 I love a fish salad for lunches at work..cod, haddock or any fish really! Always eaten cold😁

Yes. Twice cooked fish would be horrible.
