Any ideas how to find out who a number belongs to?

Is there anyway to find out who a mobile number belongs to? I had a WhatsApp message from a number saying my name then asking me to call them. Profile picture is all black and I don’t have the number saved. I don’t want to ask who they are as don’t want contact with certain people (toxic family members) googled it and nothing comes up! It’s going to bug me. Don’t think it’s a scam due to them using my name.

I would call it on withheld and see if you recognise the voice or at least know if it’s a male or female

You could try Googling the number to see if anything shows up too

I Google numbers snd see if it's been reported as a scam. At the very least it can tell you what part of the country. Often it's a real estate agent checking if I'm still looking, or someone trying to sell me something. Usually that's a phone call not a WhatsApp though.
I wouldn't call - if it's important they'll get back to you.

I don't think there is. Did you respond to the message and ask who it is?

No my WhatsApp is set to only contacts seeing any of my info so if it is the person I’m avoiding I don’t want them to know the number is active, I guess I will have to forget about it
