If you have PCOS and teenage or adult DDs

Do your DDs also have PCOS? I have PCOS and DD is starting puberty. I am really hoping I haven't passed it on to her but just made the mistake of googling and read that up to 70% of girls whose mother has PCOS end up diagnosed with PCOS themselves.

I have PCOS. My teenage daughter definitely doesn’t, periods regular to the day.

I was diagnosed at 15. DD18 seems to be unaffected, no problems.

Yes, I was gutted when she found out. If there is any plus side it's that she found out much earlier than me as the GP tested very early (14) to rule it out due to issues with periods.

Thanks for the replies. I just hope she doesn't have the fertility issues I went through.

Sorry OP, I have PCOS as did my mother and grandmother so it really depends. My mum got pregnant at 17 and then had 8 years struggling to conceive with me.

I also got pregnant at 19, had an abortion and now trying again at 29- have not had a period since September :( and private scans has shown both ovaries to be polycystic. I can imagine if I have a daughter she will have it too :(
