I’m so sick of it! I felt ill New Year’s Day. Had the whole week off, more or less sofa bound.

I’m still struggling to sleep and feel as though I’ve swallowed a drink the wrong way- you know that spluttery feeling that takes a while to go away when you’ve accidentally inhaled a bit of a drink.

I’ve been using ventolin for the first time in years. It helps cumulatively as the day wears on but not immediately.

Any ideas? I’m assuming it’s not whooping cough as I’m not whooping!

I’ve the same, going on weeks, since before Christmas.

It abates for a few days and then sudden onset of a violent coughing fit that causes me to vomit and even wet myself on one occasion.

I sat on the bathroom floor for 4 hrs last night coughing and vomiting, but very little mucus is coming up.

Today my rib cage, back and eyeballs sore.

I’ve tried two cough medicines, decongestants, steaming head over a bowl. Nothing is helping.

Same here. Whole family.

I've never had a cough like it.

So many people I know have had it too. A lot of people on MN talking about this illness.

ive had it for about six weeks. Peaked around Christmas- awful.
I believe it is whooping cough but perhaps more manageable due to vaccines?

I had a phone call consultation with my GP last week. she said the vomiting is a sign it may be whooping cough. The whooping noise is more prevalent in children and adults may not ‘whoop’.

Antibiotics should be administered in the first week and any later than diminishing the effectiveness of Anti bs.
She said to continue with decongestant, humidifier and to keep taking Benylyn for chesty
cough and call her back if no improvement in a week.
