Do Scot/ Wales/ NI and England count as 1 country or 4?

I am counting up how many countries I have visited.

I am not sure I should count 1 as UK or 4 in the break down? I know some will say it is silly thing to be wondering about!

Four countries.

4 as each has its own capital city.

4, 3 of them have their own parliament.

Four countries united as one kingdom.

Are you not counting the NI assembly or the British parliament bring in England (therefore England not having their own)?
