If so could you PM me re the details as, although Registered, we didn't get ours, & it's too long a journey to go 'on spec' as it were. Thanks x

Bumping for you

@medianewbie

Their website says that it is 1200-1500 at their facility in Whitechapel

If you are genuinely interested, just go to the right place at the right time (both bits of info noted above). They’re not going to turn away somebody genuinely interested at their Open Day !

@YankeeDad Thank you. We are actually registered for it. They sent a text late this afternoon saying: 'look out for email which explains how to prepare for tomorrow'. Didn't get it & no chance to chase. DS is now v nervous. We'd have to travel (at 5am from Scotland!) for 3 hrs that he might hate (OF its all ice-breaker stuff) so I was hoping someone else on MN might have had the email to give us an idea.

Sorry, *IF' it's all ice-breaker stuff ...

@medianewbie now I understand your concern. That is kind of irritating.

DS does not need to be nervous about “performing” in my view, as Open Days are generally designed to recruit students, not to filter them. The main risk is if it is a waste of time. But if that is an acceptable risk for the reward of learning more about the school in a structured format, then go1. If not, then do not. That is the decision to be made. Depends really on the amount of interest in the school.

YankeeDad · 20/01/2024 08:43

@medianewbie probably it is too late for this to affect your decision, but I happen to know a person in senior management at LIS and he emailed to me as follows:

”Yes they can just turn up and nothing to prepare.”

medianewbie · 20/01/2024 09:06

@YankeeDad oh that's so kind of you.
We've stayed home (600m round trip - I did wake Ds at 5am but he didn't leap out of bed). Does your contact there have much to say about LIS in general pls?

Hi medianewbie, I am personally connected with the school as well. I will send you a PM rather than putting lots more detail on a public forum because that might identify me personally on here, and if you want to engage on this, just respond to my PM.

Thank you very much @YankeeDad
