Can’t remember name of British drama - can’t sleep!!

Been trying to get to sleep for the last hour and can’t, because my mind is working overtime trying to remember the name of a drama series I remember watching!

The most significant part I can remember is some kind of battle between an older, ex police officer (supported by a lawyer) and a construction company who want to demolish his house. They eventually demolish it and find the body of (I think his wife?) in the walls of the house.

That almost definitely wasn’t the main storyline but google isn’t helping and is like to switch my mind off now!

Does it ring any bells for anyone?!

Oh bloody hell of course it’s the Stranger! Thank you!! When I saw it come up after my first Google search, I thought it couldn’t be that because there was so much that went on in that series… I didn’t put two and two together!

I do remember the body in the wall from Unforgotten, so I knew for sure it wasn’t that one!
