DH only talks about work !

My DH is great in many ways but since being promoted last year he only talks about work !

I’m happy to be his sounding board and am always 100% supportive but it can be a little draining. Last night he talked at me for over 30 minutes when get on in from work. Then he talked non stop over dinner and then I got another 30 minutes before bed !! Every time I try and steer the conversation away, he brought it back to work 😱

Can anyone else relate ?!

My DH did this when he was stressed at work….I ended up lightheadedly (mostly) suggesting we had a 30 minute period of work talk….usually when we were out on a walk.

Yes, we both do and I am sick, sick, sick of it.

Mine does tbh

Tell him straight that you are willing to do X amount of work talk (each if necessary) and that’s it. Call him out every time, walk out of the room, ear phones until he gets the message. It’s like he’s controlling air time. Fuck that.

Mine does this and I just tell him to pack it in, lol.

Sounds like this was me, guess it's so demanding you've just got to let it out, whether anyone is listening or not, also to validate you've done ok!

Do u talk about your work as well? Got to the point we said we can have an hour max to let off work steam then off topic, didn't work lol 🙃
