Having a party - what activities?

I've decided to throw a party for my 40th and hired a hall with a bar. I'm conscious that not everyone drinks as heavily as we did when we were 30 so I'm wondering what kind of 'activities' should I put on for the evening?
Or do you think people are fine with a bar and music?
Thanks

For mine I had a DJ, glitter face painter (a hit with both men and women) and a photo booth type thing with props and bought a photo printer so that people could print some out and put them in a book or keep them.

There was lots of 🥃🥃🥃🥃 too.

For my 50th at home I bought a shots roulette game and it certainly got the party going. It was chatting, eating and mingling then I got the game out and afterwards literally everyone then started dancing! The party went from nice and pleasant to a really good laugh. Half of my guests usually don’t drink so I offered normal shots, lightweight shots or people could completely refuse the shot or not join in at all. Everyone did play though.
I am a total lightweight by the way.

I've only been to one 'big birthday' party, a 50th - it was great, there was a silent disco. Three different sets of music to cover various ages/tastes, hilarious, and everyone not dancing could talk without having to shout.

We had a football table and beer pong, which were both popular

That sounds great fun, my pet hate is a party in a hall with a disco that’s so loud you can’t chat and no one actually dances until the last 40 minutes of the party.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm tempted to get a band in or (god forbid!) karaoke. Most of my friends should be up for a dance - I can't imagine them sitting around until the last 40 minutes
