Bpd binge eating exclusion criteria

Hi have tried to stop binge eating but struggle in particular with sweet things like chocolate
I have tried to refer myself to a local eating disorder service but they said bpd people aren’t allowed as well as autism.

in 2020 I accessed their service before my bpd diagnosis and they helped a bit through CBT but it didn’t stop the binge eating completely. I said I was very briefly diagnosed with bpd over the phone by a doc and my nurse thinks I may only have traits and not the full condition as I don’t self harm. I just feel empty and mood can turn angry or impulsive quickly .

Through gynaecology I got Metformin which made me lose about 12kg in 3 months for
suspected Pcos although no cysts were seen on ultrasound. I don’t want to take it again as has some side effects like muscle loss.

why do they exclude people that need help

"why do they exclude people that need help"

Because they only want to help people who respond quickly to their help. For people who find themselves diagnosed with BPD, life has been difficult and harsh and coping mechanisms have become ingrained.

I'm so sorry you've been turned away. But remember that it says everything about them and nothing about you.

because they are eating disorder specialists
and you need broader support for other medical conditions linked with your eaton disorder that they don’t have the expertise in

makes sense to me
