What do you like about being married if you've been married more than once

I've been reading conversations here, online and offline about how most women prefer to live alone, never want to remarry, don't want to lose their inheritance, prefer their own space etc yet people get married all the time. I see so many long-term or married people out and about, seemingly living their best lives.

If you have remarried or started living with someone again after a long term relationship, please share why you like being married or living together. It would be nice to hear what other experiences are like.

If you're thinking about it, what are you looking forward to the most?

I left it nearly 20 years to remarry although had live in partners in between. Im a relationship person. I like someone to come home to. I enjoy the occasional night away by myself and am independent but enjoy being a couple. My wife is my person. It's been challenging at times but we fit. We are building a home together and have shared values and plans. I also like being part of her family as mine are rubbish. I don't think I'd ever marry or live with a man again though.

If you decide to have children with a new partner, it makes financial sense to marry them.

I like the whimsical idea of getting married again just to be able to do the day itself again. Because there were things I didn't necessarily like about my wedding. In reality, I probably wouldn't. I need to protect the financial interests of my children so it doesn't make sense to marry again. I also wouldn't want to live with another man while I still live with my children. Chances are by the time I've dealt with two teenage boys growing into adult men, I'll be more than happy to live alone forever!
