Have you ever took time off work because of stress?

I'm really struggling.

I've recently left a job that I was at for a few years - this job was underpaid and burnt me out like crazy towards the end, my mental health was really suffering.

I've gone straight from this into self-employed work but I'm doing even more hours doing this and I just feel as though I'm at absolute rock bottom and just struggling so much.

I'm not even specifically looking for advice, just looking to see if anyone else has ever been in this position. I feel really low with it right now.

I left a stressful position in a well regarded company as I was struggling to cope with the new culture, extreme workload, office politics, general bullshit. I knew it was them not me!

I took a role in a supposedly less stressful, less well paid, very local job. I immediately hated it, I mean HATED it. It was way more stressful.

I had to change jobs again, the employer made my life pretty awful and at one time told me I was not allowed to resign without his express permission! I almost laughed in his face. Amongst other batshit behaviour they thought was acceptable. The craziness of the intensely wealthy is another level.

I found a good role going back to the office work I’ve always done.

To answer your initial question I didn’t take a days’ sick in either role. It wasn’t sickness it was stress and time off wouldn’t have fixed it.
