Is it just me or does this just not read right?

Maybe ‘and’ instead of ‘as’ BBC headline

Either works

Both work fine.

There’s loads of typos on the BBC but I don’t think there’s anything wrong with this one.

The 'as' says she was likely there because of the second thing. For example in this sentence - he was pissed AS he'd been drinking all day/ he was pissed AND he had been drinking all day. The as suggests a relationship between the two items, the and suggests they are unconnected.

Is she visiting him in hospital? If so the as is correct.

Boomboom22 · 17/01/2024 21:05

It's the same time so perfectly correct use. And would require a clarifier on the end and either give less detail as a shorter headline or be a very long headline to deliver the same information.

I'd prefer them to give her her proper title. She was Kate Middleton on Radio 4's News.
I think the new interns started today so anything goes.

Agree.

Except that she in hospital herself so that would make the title wrong.

Is it right? Ok, doesn’t round right. It’s like she’s with him. Agree with PP why is she Kate and he King. But a diff thread!
