Hi we collected my mobility car last week but my question is. The car is mine and my partner is the named driver I know the car is to be used only things that benefit me but at least once a month my neice comes and stays with me so my partner can get a wee break he would normally go fishing and use this time to take his brother out as he also has disabilities we see this as a nice break I get a girly night and he gets out with no worries with his brother can he use the mobility or would we still need to keep our old car which seems alot due to only being used once a month.
Thank you in advance

He can use the mobility.

It is to benefit you but part of that is it being used by members of your family.

I would argue that your partner using the car to go away for a night gives you a break and a chance to spend time alone with your niece, which you need for your mental health. I wouldn’t pose it as benefiting your DP if anyone asks.

I think he can use it as the family car, but not for deliveries or something like that. So he could do school runs and commute to work but not use FOR work.
