Bathroom gloves and sponges

How do you clean and store the gloves/ sponges/ cloths you use to clean the bathroom/toilet, after you've used them?

Just looking for the best way to do it both as hygienically and sustainably as possible!

Sponge I clean bath/sink with just gets stored behind the sink pedestal with gloves, they were in the bottom of the cupboard in previous house. I don’t use a sponge on the toilet, I have a toothbrush for getting under the rim & down the bend which is stored behind the toilet pipe (not visible), the seat & porcelain gets wiped with toilet roll after they have been doused in cleaner.

Sponge just goes beneath the sink. Using marigolds for toilet gives me to ick, so disposable clothes and wipes go straight in the bin.
