Is this curly hair on my toddler

Mine is dead straight, her dads is very dry and has a slight wave when it gets long.
When we're it really goes into ringlets and has done since she was born, when it's dry it can either stay with a few rings but have some bits that are straighter than others, when I brush it it just goes messy !

This is when wet.
She has a really long bit of hair that's been there from birth so it's baby hair but that bit is straight, the new hair around her crown is curly

Looks like it. I'd start the curly girl method whilst she's still young so it becomes second nature.

Yes, lovely. It might not stick around though - my son's hair was curlier than this when he was 2, but by 4 it had gone almost completely straight.

Too early to say if she's a true curly.
Toddlers' hair will change as they get to be 4 or 5; then hair can change again in adolescence.!

My dd had a mix of straight and curly/wavy at that age and length! Now at 10 it’s wavy (but long).

Two of mine had curtly hair like that as babies and toddlers. They both had quite straight hair by the time they were 5.

Once the ringlets were cut off, they never came back.

As a baby I had super curly hair and ringlets. Then around 3 it became super straight. And then in my teens, it became a frizz ball. And now it’s very wavy.

So, it might change, a lot!

I would say it's wavy rather than curly, if you want to be very specific.

I have two very curly haired children and see a special curly hair hairdresser who only does curly and 'ethnic' hair, and her advice is not to do the curly girl method as can be damaging to the curls.

Thanks everyone! I agree it does seem more wavy when dry, but it's so lovely when wet the curls are gorgeous !! I don't plan on getting it cut, ever 😆😆

My niece has hair exactly like that but she’s around the same age as yours so we don’t know how it’s going to turn out. It’s fabulous hair!

I had the opposite. My toddler had nice thick but straight hair. By the time he was 6, it was even thicker and all curly!

Don't brush it when it's dry. Condition well and use a spray or leave in conditioner that's silicone and sulphate free.

DD's was complete ringlets at that age. People used to call her "Shirley Temple".
As she got older, and her hair got longer, the ringlets dropped out though. It's now easy to put a curl in, and a bit wavy, but no obvious curls.

My lovely boy at ages 2, 6 and now at 12. Didn't get curly till he was 18 months, then full ringlets at 2, thought they'd last forever. When he wanted shorter hair cuts, the ringlets were literally cut and never grew back (although still very wavy). Although now when it's humid or he's been sea swimming, the ringlets make an appearance for a few hours. He hates them though and likes his hair short.

Is this actually wavy hair? My 2 1/2 year olds hair seems to be getting wavier and wavier when wet but then dries to almost straight, just with a kink to the ends.
