Or if you don't eat breakfast, do you brush your teeth before your tea/coffee?

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 16/01/2024 13:46

I brush my teeth as soon as I get up, but then I don’t eat breakfast, I just have coffee.

Enid2001 · 16/01/2024 13:47

Before, I usually wait a little bit before eating.

BeeCucumber · 16/01/2024 13:48

Before. Floss, mouthwash , clean my teeth - no rinsing.

kuchisabishii · 16/01/2024 13:49

Both
As soon as I get up I brush my teeth. The thought of walking around without having done so is gross to me.
And then again right before I leave the house (usually 30minutes after eating)

Precipice · 16/01/2024 13:49

After. What would be the point of doing it just before? You're just about to expose them to bacteria. Better to brush before than not to do it at all, but you don't even get the benefit of a feeling that your teeth are clean afterwards.

myphoneisbroken · 16/01/2024 13:50

After. But if I was going to have breakfast with others (not DC) I would brush my teeth first as well out of consideration for them.

Bluevelvetsofa · 16/01/2024 13:50

No, it’s before, because the toothpaste works on any bacteria in the food you eat subsequently.

ToniTTtopaz · 16/01/2024 13:51

Both.

Working day, I brush my teeth after my morning tea but before my breakfast ( I eat my breakfast when I get to work )

None working day, I brush after my breakfast.

mrmagpie · 16/01/2024 13:51

Before, my best friend is a dentist and she told me to do it before or wait about 30 minutes after eating, because the acids in food will soften enamel (or something, I wasn't listening too hard!). I've always just done it before.

If I’m eating breakfast right away, then after. If I’m leaving the house (usually to the gym) and not eating, then right away when I wake up.

FunkyMonks · 16/01/2024 13:52

Weekdays I brush as soon as I'm up before I have my coffee or breakfast. Weekends when I'm not going to work or school runs I brush after having breakfast my breath isn't too bad in morning as I brush before bed etc that and I'm not walking around breathing over my family 😂😂

Teawithchocolate · 16/01/2024 13:55

Before because I have orange juice with my breakfast and had read about the enamel softening thing, breakfast tastes strange though.

SirChenjins · 16/01/2024 14:00

Before, immediately after I shower. I don’t have breakfast or coffee until later in the morning, so I like having fresh breath till then.

MeditatationMum · 16/01/2024 14:05

Both.. I take my dog out first thing so I give my teeth the once over before I go (Sod's Law would be for me to bump into someone when I have morning breath!) then I brush them properly after breakfast with brush and teepees.

SnowsFalling · 16/01/2024 14:14

After.
Minty flavored breakfast isnt my first choice!

Ponderingwindow · 16/01/2024 14:15

The second I wake up. Morning breath must be eradicated.

Well, quite!

Verv · 16/01/2024 14:18

Before while im in the bathroom post morning wee.
Then I go and get coffee. I dont eat breakfast.

TheNumberfaker · 16/01/2024 14:19

Before breakfast because that is what dentists recommend. Don’t care at all about morning breath!

Forthwith · 16/01/2024 14:21

After. Toilet and tea are the first things I do in the morning. Then shower & brush teeth.

Otherwise you’re going out with breakfast breath and letting tea stains sit on your teeth all day. That’s always been my thinking anyway.

My breath isn’t like candy floss when I wake up but it’s not so bad that I can’t have a cuppa and a chill before I freshen up Grin

AllTheChaos · 16/01/2024 14:21

Before on advice of dentist. Then after breakfast (about half an hour afterwards to avoid damaging the enamel whilst it’s soft), or just mouthwash afterwards.

Yozzer87 · 16/01/2024 14:21

I have a cup of tea first then brush before I leave the house. Come back, eat breakfast
