Or do I have to stay the duration of the time the strike is on?

If you're on strike surely you don't go in at all.

What register?

Not sure what you mean by register? But no you wouldn't go to work at all. That's the point isn't it!?

If you're on strike you don't go into the workplace at all for the duration of the strike (nor do you do any work from another location either).

There might be a picket line outside your workplace which you shouldn't cross if you're taking part in strike action.

If the strike starts after your shift begins, or if the strike ends before your shift ends then your union will have issued guidance on what to do (e.g. whether to down tools mid shift, not turn up at all etc.).

However, I don't know what register you're referring to.
