Drawer of Random Crap

Who has these, or am I the only one?!

Looking for the set of micro screwdrivers, last seen on Christmas day and have just located them in that drawer (obviously shoved in there by the husband).
Also in there was a collection of Lego bits, a pack of assorted cable ties, 3 pencils and 4 pens, a plastic pikachu, 2 tape measures and a metal ruler, a variety pack of fuses, 2 out of a pack of 3 pritt sticks and a pair of wooden chopsticks - the freebies you get given, still in the paper wrapper!

Who else wants to join me in the confessional of slovenly housekeeping?

These are my people.

Sadly short of drawers in the kitchen so we have a Basket of Crap. It contains post too boring to open, 15 biros, 3 pencils with broken leads, a cookie cutter, wine corks which might be useful, a kindle that has lost its charger, a pair of sunglasses, assorted cards, a camping spoon, and one of those silicone toys you put on the end of your finger and waggle.

We also have The Box of Wonders in the lounge, one of those callax cubes from IKEA which is full of random trophies, party bag plastic things, cars, puzzles, squishing etc, and is put down in front of any visiting child to be excavated. Whenever a resident child has lost a toy I've chucked it in the Box of Wonders.

‘In my worst one there is some euro from our last holiday’

Oh, you are an amateur. Ours has lira and franc coins (‘small change is always useful’ :DH). For the youthful, that is what they used in France and Italy prior to 2002.

I have always had The Drawer of Random Bits. My gran had one. My mum has one. Isn't it the law to have one?

Where I live now though, I actually have The Wine Rack of Random Bits. There's an island in the kitchen: one whole side down to the floor is a wine rack which I would be very ill-advised to fill with wine!

So it contains Random Bits, some of which are even useful, eg. tape measure, bungee cord, hand fan, sellotape, elastic bands. Less useful items include a birthday girl rosette, the case of a long lost umbrella, a slew of old loyalty cards and a figurine of Homer Simpson.

Think we have a few of these drawers...

Kitchen one has takeaway menus, phone charger, cat toys, screwdriver, notepad, pens.
Bedroom one has wires wires and more wires plus some fluffy socks.
One on landing has batteries, lightbulbs, cellotape, blutack, charger, pushpins, sewing kit.
One in playroom has batteries (for Xbox mainly) a pen, tissues and the odd random kinderegg toys.

Yep, I have a crap drawer in my bedside cabinet.

TV and fire stick remotes
Watch straps, spring bars, and screwdrivers/strap change tool
Jewellery polishing cloths
Watch travel rolls
Phone chargers and cables
Sim removal pin tools - all defunct thanks to E sims but you never know when you need to poke something
Hair bobbles for the mrs who's always losing hers
pens
post it notes
sellotape
ink
spare phone handset
kleenex balsam (small packs)
lemsip max strength, sudofed, probably leftover Beechams tablets as well
lip balms, several pots, in various states of nearly ran out.

think thats it off the top of my head but there will definitely be something else of no use whatsoever in there
