Anyone up? Need help on breathing/anxiety/gallbladder.

I had my gall bladder removed on Wed. All uneventful, now I’m in a bit of an anxiety spiral and in too much pain to do my normal breathing exercises. My deep breath is like a painful hiccup and then back to shallow, not helpful breathing pattern.

I am medicated with codeine, paracetamol, anti sickness and lanzoprazole. Probably due another paracetamol in about 2 hours. I can’t take ibuprofen.

How can I zen my way through this tricky bit?

@Hanlonsamazer - I hope you're sleeping now. Your post resonated with me because I'm up with a gallbladder attack.

When I'm feeling panicky, Box breathing helps me (look it up on YouTube).

I hope you feel better soon.

If you find box breathing too difficult right now, maybe try listening to a relaxation audio. There are lots on YouTube and Spotify.

I would lie quietly and rest as best you can, hope you feel better soon.

Thank you all. Am now sitting downstairs. Felt like I would get trapped like a fat stranded turtle in bed which wasn’t helping.

@Hanlonsamazer - hope you managed to get some sleep in the end.

Have you tried heat which might relax your muscles ? Hot water bottle against your upper back might help.
