I want to know what's happening at sapporo

Joonio · 15/01/2024 12:23

What do you see?

Bibbidybobbidyroo · 15/01/2024 12:24

Joonio · 15/01/2024 12:23

What do you see?

Plane that departed for Edinburgh is instead just circling the airport

We may never know. I don't see anything at Sapporo.

Star81 · 15/01/2024 12:26

We quite often have training here so maybe that.

QuestionableMouse · 15/01/2024 12:27

Poor buggers on the plane!

mintich · 15/01/2024 12:27

On mine its now saying destination n/a for that flight

mintich · 15/01/2024 12:28

Looks like it's landing now.

Star81 · 15/01/2024 12:28

When training here they literally go around and around all day doing practice landings. The other day it was Jet2

mintich · 15/01/2024 12:29

Could be it, didn't land and altitude is going up again!

HappyAsASandboy · 15/01/2024 12:29

It looked like it was landing but then it went back up again!

dottyp0104 · 15/01/2024 12:31

It will be a training flight, they don't actually land. Quite like watching them

Wearegettingfedup · 15/01/2024 12:33

There’s a Ryanair flight also doing the same at Prestwick!

mintich · 15/01/2024 12:34

@wearegettingfedup that's what we're talking about aren't we?

bluechicky · 15/01/2024 12:34

Ooh the red arrows are out

goldierocks · 15/01/2024 12:44

There has been a very interesting exercise with x3 Typhoons over Snowdonia this morning (COBRA11, 12 & 13). They arrived back in the air over Lincolnshire just as the Red Arrows came out to play😁

I think there is pilot training going on over north and west Wales today; there have been up to six Hawks in the air at the same time.

TerrysOrangeScot · 15/01/2024 12:47

Prestwick airport is one of the emergency airports in the UK where if there were security threats planes would divert to. They do a lot of training from there. It's common to see planes flying around it for ages.

notimagain · 15/01/2024 12:51

Agree with a few others that it looks like the Ryanair is doing what's known as base training.

Not all training can be done in the simulator, most especially if the pilots have no previous biggish aircraft experience, some may have to be done on a real aircraft at a quiet airfield.

bunnypenny · 15/01/2024 12:52

I remember as a child watching Concorde doing “circuits and bumps” at Prestwick. Used to go over our garden. There are always training flights there!

Ooh the red arrows are out

Please tell me how to find them! 😊
