To not know the sound of your dads voice

I wrote a short essay about not having a dad. Here it is.

I was wondering if anyone knows of any other essays on the topic or also has the same thoughts around the question, “what do they sound like?”

This really touched me.

Many years ago I heard a commercial on radio and one of the voices was my dad's. I rushed into the kitchen and asked mum "when did dad do that commercial??!!" (They needed a voice with a strong accent").

I knew my dad's voice the moment I heard it, even completely out of context.

I can't imagine not knowing his voice... <hugs>
