Does anyone know Berlin?

Need some help with a trip with my DD16 next week. We’ve booked lots of the normal tourist stuff and the zoo and we’re really excited. We have an afternoon which she wants to shopping. She’s after some vintage shops with some of the big name stores too and if possible I’d like some nice independent shops. Does such an area exist? We’re staying near Mitte but happy to get public transport (but not too far as we only have a morning before getting to the airport). TIA.

I used to live in Berlin! Love it! The main shopping street is the ku’damm, however I don’t know if there are any vintage shops. There are shops around Alexander Platz which potentially may fit the bill. I used to work in Potsdamer Platz and went to the shops there every day!

I would head to Kreuzberg which is very trendy.

If you’re there on a Sunday, there is a great vintage market in Boxhagenerplatz- lots of good brunch spots too.

I used to love vintage shopping in Berlin about 15 years ago, but visited in April and was disappointed to find my old haunts had closed and been replaced with chain stores (Hackeschermarkt/oranienburgerstraße used to be brilliant). Boxhagenerplatz was still good though.

There is an amazing vintage shop called Ohne Frage Toll but the woman who runs it is, well, nuts. She might let you in, she might not. Google reviews say it all 😂
