Gnocchi. To boil it not?

Asda recipe.

We have off the shelf 'dry' gnocchi, not fresh.

The recipe doesn't suggest you need to pre-boil the gnocchi.

What do you think?

Thanks.

i think the dry gnocchi should get some moisture from the tomatoes in the next step. It sounds delicious

I have never pre boiled gnocci 😊

Plot twist: fry it for about five mins. So yummy!

It'll be fine. You can pan fry gnocchi or roast it and it tastes so much better than boiled

bluechicky · 14/01/2024 18:52

Don't boil it.

It's gorgeous fried or tray baked

Dontdeclutterthemagic · 14/01/2024 18:52

I'd usually soak in boiling water for 2 minutes. Even then it can get overly crispy.

EffieGraysDisappointingWeddingNight · 14/01/2024 18:53

I'd give it a quick blanching in boiling water and then fry it.

Thanks all!

I make something similar to this regularly and never bother boiling my gnocchi. It’s a delicious dinner and very easy to tinker about with according to what you fancy/have in the fridge. Enjoy

idontlikealdi · 14/01/2024 19:21

I always fry it
