Planning a mini break with DH to London in May, taking in one or possibly two shows. Any recommendations would be welcome. Mixed reviews for Frozen & reckon I would enjoy it more than DH.

Hamilton is amazing. Clever and so well produced.
The current version of Guys and Dolls is meant to be brilliant. I really want to go.
Cabaret is an incredible experience and piece of theatre.
Book of Mormon is hilarious if you have a really high swearing and blasphemy threshold. And I mean really, really high.
Hadestown is on my list.
Standing at the Sky’s Edge looks fab.

There are others, but you have a limited time…

Anyone else?

Hamilton, Guys and Dolls and Cabaret are the top three - all exceptionally good. Cabaret, of course, is rather dark so if you want something that's just pure joy, I'd say Guys and Dolls.

Matilda is always reliable, of the long-runners.

Personally, I hated Wicked, and I thought Six isn't really a proper musical, just a Spice Girls rip off.... but other people love them.

Frozen is fantastic - my DH liked it far more than he thought he would.

Back to the Future also Amazing!

Sister Act is coming back in the spring. That’s a brilliant show.

Hamilton also brilliant but you do need to know your history a bit to get the most out of it I think.

Les Mis always amazing but you do need to know the story for that too I think.

Back to the Future- the SFX are incredible!

Hoping to book for The Wizard of Oz which is coming to a theatre about an hour away direct from The London Palladium. Has anyone seen it?

We saw Frozen last night (not seen previous thread) and were unimpressed. The cast were all good but it was just a bit of a disappointment and felt like it had missed a chance to be spectacular.

If you’ve watched stranger things The First Shadow is great.

Hamilton!
