ID if you've sent your passport away

I can't have a provisional driving licence, and I've just sent my passport away for renewal. Is there anything else I could use as ID for (e.g.) picking up parcels?

If you've got confirmation that something like a parcel is ready for collection on your phone, which you can produce and the card you paid on, they might release parcel without photo ID.
