Just that what do your children call you or what do you prefer to be called.
My children call me mum/dad.
My sister's children call her by her nic name dad by his name.
I call my mum by her name as did my mum to hers same as dad.
My friend will not answer to her children unless they say mummy & daddy.

Mum and dad, even from an early age. I never liked mummy or daddy and I don't hear it used often here (Scotland) beyond toddler age.

If ds called me "birth giver" I would have words about its origins and tell him it should not be normalised even in a poor attempt at funny.

Out of interest, what are the issues with Birth Giver?

5yo DS - mummy, mumma and sometimes my name if he's being cheeky. Calls my partner by his name (he's not DS' dad)

10mo DD - DADA because everything is dada at the moment 🤦‍♀️ occasionally MMMMMM. My partner is obviously chuffed that he gets called dada 🙄 (he is DD's dad)

I call my mum mumma 99% of the time. The rest of the time is split between mum and woman parent. My dad is just dad...or daddy if I need something 🤣

Adult children call me Mum, occasionally Mummy and from DS Mother Goose and one of my DD calls me Mumzy. Dad usually just gets Dad and occasionally Papa Smurf.

Eldest calls me mater, he"s 27 and started it as a joke.
DSS 22 calls me mama, again started as a joke.
They both call DH Dad.

TheChosenTwo · 14/01/2024 21:22

We are mum and dad although when mother dearest comes out I know it’s soon to be followed by a favour request 😂
I was Mamooki for years too!

Mine call us Mummy and Daddy.
I think this is weird as they are adults ( 23/29 ) though it is only in the privacy of home, apparently they use Mum and Dad when talking about us to other people.......Sis and I called our parents Mum and Dad from late primary age!
