Can anyone recommend a nice place for lunch? I'm meeting DD after an interview and have promised her a nice lunch. Thank you

If you like pizza, pizza pilgrims do a decent pizza but they are a (London I guess, definitely not out in the sticks near me!) chain.

I only go in occasionally, I'm sure there must be plenty of much fancier restaurants as well!

Anjea · 14/01/2024 16:45

We like pizza but gar it quite often so probably would like something different. Not too fancy!

Hi @Anjea are you looking for lunch or early dinner? There are loads of places to choose from just depends what you want.

PoinsettiaLives · 14/01/2024 16:48

DD likes Sticks n Sushi.

Whatsthestorynow · 14/01/2024 16:48

If you like Turkish there is a nice waterfront restaurant over the bridge from Canary Wharf called Hazev. Also there are some nice places in Crossrail Place including the Breakfast Club (does all day brunch/ casual dining).

liz4change · 14/01/2024 16:49

There's a v nice S&S by the Elizabeth Line station.

liz4change · 14/01/2024 16:50

Ah cross posted. Second The Breakfast Club

Caravan or Iberica

AceofPentacles · 14/01/2024 18:11

The Ivy

Ex canary wharf worker here. My picks for a nice lunch (I note you stated nice so imagine not pizza or indeed The Breakfast Club which is cool but not really special) in order of my choice.
Roka
Iberica
Sticks n Sushi
The ivy

DD likes Sticks n Sushi.

My DD and DS would agree - and one is a vegetarian and one a rabid meat eater so the wholehearted agreement is rare!

GreatGateauxsby · 15/01/2024 04:51

Another sticks n sushi vote
Known quantity and a general hot with teens/20 somethings

chocopuffs · 15/01/2024 05:53

Dishoom is always good (though not fancy), and actually if you're interested in vegan that newish Mallow place is pretty good too.

Ooh yes I came on to say Roka if you are fans of Japanese - similarly sticks n sushi.

quisensoucie · 15/01/2024 07:29

The Ivy. Great cheese souffle, fab courgette fritters!
Not as expensive as you may think

APurpleSquirrel · 15/01/2024 09:19

I really like Wahaca - been a few times in the Canary Wharf one.
