I have some 20 year old ones that still look fine, and some 15 year olds that are distinctly saggy. Shelves and sides all bent.

25 years old. Still look the same as the day they were assembled.

5 years old. Have pretty much fallen apart where they stand.

Clearly a change in materials used.

notacooldad · 14/01/2024 16:35

I got mine second hand over 10 years ago it is doing alright. It has moved around the house several times and it's holding up.

Marblessolveeverything · 14/01/2024 16:36

2 of the big 8 sections are 14 years old in good shape they're painted have moved three times survived two children and still look well. Planning on wrapping them soon.

NeverDropYourMooncup · 14/01/2024 16:36

14 years and good as new. I got the narrower ones to ensure there was no sagging - I suspect being wedged full to the brim with books helped maintain their shape.

etmoiandme · 14/01/2024 16:38

We have 3 that are about 13 years old, have lasted through moves and still look in good nick.

itadak · 14/01/2024 16:39

25 years old and doing fine. Painted them several times to change appearance but otherwise all good.

ADoggyDogWorld · 14/01/2024 16:39

20 plus years old, still good as new, moved house once.

Also have effektiv office furniture that is best part of 20 years old, again, good as new.

ADoggyDogWorld · 14/01/2024 16:40

(The effektiv range was discontinued years ago)

Scampuss · 14/01/2024 16:40

Mine are the oak veneer ones, close to 20yo and still look new.

Strugglingtodomybest · 14/01/2024 16:41

20 years and still look good.

DaftyLass · 14/01/2024 16:42

18 years old, has moved with us 8 times, still the same as when we got it.

Nestofwalnuts · 14/01/2024 16:42

20 years and fine.

WolfFoxHare · 14/01/2024 16:43

Some that are around 15 years old - they look fine. Some that are closer to 10 years old - they’re leaning a bit. Tbf they have had to move house three times since they were assembled but so have the older ones!

Same. I love mine.

greengreengrass25 · 14/01/2024 16:47

Mine is fine

I'm sure it's from the 90s as a family member passed it on to us

MotorwayDiva · 14/01/2024 16:54

15 years (wow time flies) and 3 house moves. Still look like new

GlasgowGal82 · 14/01/2024 17:06

6 years, packed with books but never been relocated. Looking great!

sharonelizabeth · 14/01/2024 17:32

34 years old, still in good condition ( now I feel old).

Seainasive · 14/01/2024 17:47

34 years is impressive!

Had one for about 35 years. Oak veneer. Was absolutely fine. I recently up cycled it to make a unit for my friends' little girls to hang up dressing up clothes on. Still going strong!

Lollygaggle · 14/01/2024 17:51

34/35 years and still going strong although a bit bleached by sun in places. Have moved house twice with them and added to originals .

Remember going to Warrington to buy and how exciting it was and cheap, good quality compared to MFI which were the alternative.

JellicleCat · 14/01/2024 18:54

We have some that are probably 25 years old and are still going strong and are in good condition.

annlee3817 · 14/01/2024 18:57

1 year old and knackered! Very disappointed

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 14/01/2024 19:15

29 years and fine. Mind they may be held together by the sheer number of books.
