I've been dating a guy for a couple of months. At the start, he scheduled dates way in advance. He travels for work sometimes so he scheduled date #1 2 weeks in advance and date #2 one week in advance. I told him it was so refreshing to date someone who likes to plan. He said yeah he is a planner but also has to be spontaneous sometimes because of the 'more chaotic' people he works with.
But lately he's been very busy at work and dates are planned last minute. He told me he was flat out at work until Monday (tomorrow) and I said no problem and gave him dates I can meet next week.
Since then he has text/called every day between work stuff. On Friday, I asked him to let know when he wants to meet next week. He said he would and that it would be after Monday/once his deadline passes.
Now, to be fair, I'm only asking for a day from him to get it in the diary. We can firm up specifics later on. I can't help wondering why he won't do this? And which part of me is being anal/which part of him is being annoying
Part of me thinks he's focused on work & now thinks we're a sure thing/last minute is ok. Another thinks we're clashing because we're both used to calling the shots a bit. But it's annoying me because I like to plan my week.
Is there a good way to compromise?
