Comfort food - what's your favorite?

We just had tomato soup (home made) with cheesy crusty bread, simple food but so comforting! It really hit the spot for lunch

What is your go-to comfort food?

I would order a cheeseburger. If I was making it myself it would be cheese on toast.

egg in a cup (mashed with a wee knob of butter and salt and pepper), hot buttered toast and a very large mug of tea (the colour of peanut butter) and 2 sugars.

Shepherds/cottage pie, I also like cheese and jam sandwiches

Peanut butter on toast. And yes i butter the toast before adding the peanut butter!

Heinz tomato soup with grated cheese on top

Cheese on toast

All best served with a cuppa and the weather outside miserable

Mashed potatoes with most things yum. Especially my lamb shanks with lots of winey sauce and peas.Has to be peas as you can stick them to the mash !
White sliced bread toast and marmite with a big mug of tea

Bacon and tinned tomatoes on thick white toast🥰

Pasta with chunky red sauce, tuna salad sandwich, toast with peanut butter.
Not a molecule of butter in any of these!!!!

Cheesy Heinz beans on toast,poached eggs,marmite toast with butter and fresh uncut bread .

Shepherds pie or chicken stew with dumplings. Traditional British fare though I've been known to be experimental with the seasonings

Unfortunately the rest of household do not think this is a "meal"

Garlic bread. Specifically the M&S fresh ones you get in the freezer bit.

Pea and ham soup

Apple and rhubarb crumble with custard. Actually, just custard is fine.

Chip butty

Plain chow mein.

Strawberry jam sandwiches, made with supermarket white sliced bread, cold butter and Bonne Maman jam.

Shepherds Pie with loads of gravy
Sticky Toffee or Bread and Butter Pudding
Chilaquiles or Huevos Motuleños with refried black beans.

Potnoodle with toast dippers (soldiers)

Is there any other way?

I like buttered toast with beans and plastic cheese with a dollop of hp sauce
