Skirt Club - has anyone been to an event? Is it friendly?

I'm bisexual but I didn't get a chance to explore this side of myself when I was younger, and I have no idea how to meet women. I'm really interested in going to a Skirt Club event, but I'm a size 14 - are they like Killing Kittens, with strict criteria re appearances? What are the events like, are they friendly? I'm worried about going and being ignored or worse, turned away...

This is made me realise how much I lack confidence in my looks and I'm definitely going to try and lose weight this year. I was fairly happy with my looks in my 20s and that has changed a lot now.

Surely this club whatever it is must have it's own online groups where you can get information?

I'm not sure you'll find much experience on Mumsnet.

They don't exist.

Hope that helps.

What doesn't exist?

I've just Googled 'Skirt Club' and that does?

Rocknrollstar · 14/01/2024 11:38

They do exist and they are on Facebook. Just search for them on there.

DollyTrolly · 14/01/2024 11:43

I have ..... they are really friendly.
I'd highly recommend starting by attending one of the cocktail events or brunches as they are pretty low key and are about getting to know low people.
If you join via their website you can join the forum for your nearest city and start chatting to people and find out when the next event is.
If you buy a ticket they you generally get added to a WhatsApp group so you can all chat before you meet.

I've met some amazing people through skirt club - I'd highly recommend it!

*getting to know people.
Not sure where the extra 'low' came from!

I’d echo this! Go for it …

So they are womens groups and they only want women there?
What a bunch of Vulvas

DollyTrolly · 21/03/2025 15:20

So they are womens groups and they only want women there?

Exactly.
As an active member of skirt club I want the events I attend to be for women only.
If men were allowed to attend I would leave and stop my membership.

A big part of SC for many of us is exploring the journey of being a bi-curious or bi-sexual woman. And sharing those experiences with women in a similar situation.

Hoppinggreen · 21/03/2025 15:23

Too "excluding in their criteria" for some it seems

That's fine by me 😂

What makes you say that?

But it’s a women’s group?!

But it’s a women’s group?!

Quite, but some people struggle with that definition these days

KittnerKitten · 16/02/2026 19:44

I too would love to try this! I’m intrigued to know if you went for it and how it went? xxx
