Stairs at Euston

Anyone know how steep are the stairs at Euston ( going southbound to Victoria) please? Planning a trip tomorrow and have a small suitcase and just noticed on the website there are engineering works on the escalators. I'm not super fast on stairs but ok if not too steep.

Thanks in advance 😊

I used the lift.

There are two flights from memory, normal steepness and quite wide but a lot of people on them when escalators not working.

If you want to use the lift, give yourself time because it can get really busy!

I think the lift only goes to the tube entrance barriers not the Victoria line platform, that is escalator access as I recall it being easier to walk to KX a few weeks ago.

The lift is to ticket hall only. After that 1 set of escalators works but then you’re down steps for the rest - they’re spiral/pretty steep and it’s REALLY crowded depending on the time of day. I’d suggest walking to Kings X! Or taking Victoria Line northbound (good escalator service) one stop and going back on yourself.

Thanks for the info that's really helpful.

I think I'll do this and come back on myself, thank you,I wouldn't have thought of that.

The escalator works when I went there about ten days ago were those from the Underground station to the mainline one, where only two of three were in use.

I did this this morning and went back on myself, easy peasy with a heavy suitcase, the stairs were REALLY busy! Thanks again😊

Oh I’m glad it worked! Thanks for the update haha. I thought of you this morning as I tramped down those stairs, thankfully sans- suitcase!

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 15/01/2024 13:27

I could probably do it without the suitcase but I'm a bit unsteady anyway and didn't want to risk it with suitcase too plus tons of people!
