Center Parcs Whinfell by train-any tips?

We are going to Whinfell Forest next month. We've been lots of times but this time will be by train. Any tips for getting from Penrith station to CP? We will be less constrained by time so I'm planning on getting there earlier than usual (am instead of pm) and leaving later in the day around 4/5pm. We mainly swim when there and aren't too fussed about other activities. We are only a couple of hours away by train. It's a surprise for the dc and they are going to be so excited! TIA

I believe there's a bus you can catch from Penrith.

We've been several times and just get a taxi from Penrith station. I seem to remember it was about 25 pounds

The bus is more my budget than a £25 taxi. We will probably be the only ones arriving by bus! We will travelling quite light so the bus should be fine. Thank you.

We went in 2019. Got a taxi each way. There was a taxi rank at the station & coming home reception at CP has taxi numbers
You can arrive when you like & leave all your luggage at the check in. Security deliver it to your lodge for you & will collect it & store it on departure day so you can relax when everyone else is faffing with their luggage & moving their cars (a good time to swim as really quiet!)

Please check this but I think this bus goes from Carlisle, calling in at Penrith and dropping off at Whinfell. Its not the quickest but it will be part of the adventure for your DC.
