Supermarket substitutes

I am really struggling financially and need to make some changes. I have always bought brands - in my head I have always thought that cheaper substitutions are false economy. What substitutes ARE just as good? Particularly things like washing powder/liquid? Dishwasher tablets etc? Thanks!

I think most of the supermarket own brands are fine and there are very few items that I buy branded. You can tell the budget ranges are less quality but the standard ones are fine.
